Chips First Golf Outing and more

So yesterday, Tony had a free round at the Highlands here in dothan and Chip and I tagged along. It was an absolute blast! Chip got a little cat nap in, and the rest of the time he thought the swinging of the golf club was the funniest thing! I'm glad we weren't playing with anyone else because it was almost as if he was laughing at tony every time he swang the club (i told him so anyway! lol). We had a blast, though, and just really enjoyed the time together as a family. Also, I've (becca) been going to the gym each day lately and letting chip hang out in the Daycare there at the gym. Lordy is he NOT thrilled with it! He tries to inform me of what he thinks about it before we get there AND after we leave. I hate to laugh at him but he has to learn to deal with it. The ladies in the daycare are marvelous! They love on him and just really try to make him comfortable but with a baby this determined to do it his way, there's not much hope. They set him up with toys, lots of music and just let him fuss it out. Thats the only thing they can do.

Last weekend was his christening and i didn't blog about it but it was beautiful! The coolest thing to me is that the water at Covenant that they do the Christening with is water from the Jordan River! That's where Jesus was Baptised!!! how amazing is that. anyway, as you saw from the pictures below, my girlfriend took pictures for us and afterwards of the family and they were such fun pictures! We were so grateful to her for doing it and they just turned out beautiful! (She is available for hire!!! weddings, babies, special ocasions - Jennie Murphy - just ask me!) Afterwards we had a great time at mom and dad's house with a brunch. Everyone came over and hung out, told stories and laughed. It was a great time had by all!

We bought tickets for Texas yesterday and are getting ready to fly with an infant in June, i'm sure that will be for the recordbooks! We fly out June 11 and get home on june 14th. We're going out there for the Hobbs family reunion with TOny's family and so we're all going to be in Texas. Fun times ahead of us. So i need to go eat something, feed Chip and then get on with my day. I think that's all for now. Enjoy and will blog soon.

the day has come!

Well, the day has come, knock on wood and still with lots of prayer, that we will get this baby baptised tomorrow. I'm up making last minute settlings of all the family here and taking a break to leave a little post about it while watching Papaw and Tony play a few hands of Gin rummy. Katie and Gaga are in the bed (where the rest of us should be) and well, Chip is asleep. Praying for a good nights rest for him so that he might be able to stay up a little later and not need a nap right after church. I'm afraid if some of the people there don't get to get their hands on him tomorrow i am going to be disowned from the family. Who knows, but as of now, Laynie seems to be ahead on brownie points with how she acts.... we'll see if he can knock her off her sassy little pedestal. We love her for sure!!! xoxo Anyway, i'm going to bid a good night to you all and will post pictures tomorrow (i hope) or Monday.

info on roseola... you asked

Roseola is a fairly mild and common viral illness that usually strikes children between 6 months and 3 years of age. Roseola usually starts out with a sudden, relatively high fever, often above 103 degrees Fahrenheit. The fever typically lasts three to five days and may end abruptly, followed by the telltale rash. The rash may last for days or only hours. The rash is pink and may have small flat spots or raised bumps. These spots may have a lighter "halo" around them and may turn white if you press on them. The rash isn't itchy or uncomfortable, and contact with the rash itself doesn't spread the illness. It's usually seen on the trunk and neck, but it can extend to the arms, legs, and face.If your baby has roseola, he may also be irritable and tired and have mild diarrhea, a decreased appetite, and swollen eyelids. The lymph nodes in his neck and at the base of his skull may also be a bit enlarged. In general, children with roseola don't appear especially ill, considering how high their fevers get.

fever update

So we woke up this morning fever free, praise the lord! After i realized we were fever free, i fed him and then was changing his diaper when i realized he had a 'peppery' rash all over. Of course, i though, "good grief!!!" Tony is at the Master's Golf tourney (no cell phones allowed) and i'm going to have to take him to the doctor all by myself. AUGHHHHH... well i called the nurse's line and spoke with her and she said that one of the doctors in the practice had an 8:00 a.m. opening and, of course, i took it. We got there, weighed in at a WHOPPING 15 lbs 13 oz and 25 inches long (still on his growth curve perfectly) and found out that he had/has roseola which is just essentially a fever virus. All is perfect and he is just as happy as he can be now that he's not got any fever. He's taking a nap right now and has played all morning. She did say that everything looks great, he's growing great, doing all the things that he should be doing and to keep on with what all we're doing. Thanks for the prayers and the concern. Hope all of you are well. will post pictures from tonys and my trip when tony gets home.

woops

hey all. did want everyone to know that we now have two teeth! his other bottom tooth cut through a few days ago. hope everyone has a good night and prayerfully we won't end up at the dr. tomorrow because his fever will be hopefully gone. will post tomorrow and let everyone know.

our first fever

Well, Murphy always says that the gremlins come out when you go on vacation and at night. well, friday night while on vacation chip ended up SICK!!! He ended up with a 104 fever saturday morning and we ended up coming home early. i'm so glad that our friends and family we were staying with understood but i was SOOOOOOOOOO disappointed. We've gotten the fever down to 101.5 and are hoping that by tomorrow it will be totally gone. Doing everything we can do and so until then that's that i guess. WIshing we could have seen more of Rome and all heard all the family stories but i guess this means, we'll be planning a continuation of this trip soon!
