Better baby room pics

So i know the other picture wasn't very clear so here are 2 better ones. The room still has lots of 'stuff' floating around that needs to be picked up and straightened up but this is better than nothing according to all of you that i hear from. Another question i have heard a lot of is "what is the saying above the bed?" Well... it says "All because two people fell in love..." Hope that you all enjoy and i can't wait to be able to upload pics of actual baby instead of room pictures!!! *To see the pics better w/out the interference of our Blogger layout, click the picture and it will pull up individually*

shower pictures

update

So this past weekend i had a shower with girlfriends and close family friends and was just blessed beyond measure at the gifts given to us for this little one that is so close to being here. A great time was had by all and its amazing, now, at how the little one's room is starting to look more and more like a nursery instead of just an empty room. i've attached a picture to show part of the progress and i'm sorry it's not so detailed but it's enough to keep you all up to date. Continue to pray that this little one starts putting on some weight and that all continues to go as is right now. Doctor says that all looks good and that i'm starting to dilate a little with a little effacement which is fine. Baby has dropped and is getting ready to come meet everyone and is just tiny. I go back next wednesday to get a weight check on baby and other than that, all is well for now.

Target update

I totally forgot to update you all on the Target drama... so after being an insistant 9 months pregnant female :-) i got things taken care of. I finally went to the Customer service desk @ the Target here in Dothan and told them that they needed to call the people over seas that they outsource their customer service to and take care of it because i was tired of calling and doing it myself! :-) hehe WELL...... after a full weekend of the actual Target people working on it it FINALLY got posted on the kiosk in the store as well as online. All of this drama to tell you that our registry is FINALLY on the kiosk in the store as well as online and we are also registered @ BabysRus and locally, Bellamia. Hope you enjoy the mental picture of me "showing up" at target and get a good laugh off of it.

baby update

So this is going to be an all around baby update- from the room to the baby to even some much better pictures.

The baby's room is coming along quite nicely. We've gotten the dots on the walls, have bought a crib mattress, and have even painted the lettering of "All because two people fell in love" over the crib. We are coming down to the wire to get the border painted but it will all come in due time, i'm sure!

Baby is good and healthy. A little small according to the doctor but lets consider the size of this baby's mamma... i'm not too big myself. Baby weighs a little over 4 1/2 lbs but she is not worried about that at all. I've dialated 1.5 cm which, too, is no concern because i am 35 1/2 weeks along. We're hoping that baby will be as close to the full 40 weeks as possible just so that it can get its weight up but everything looks really good! Hope that you all are doing well and are getting as excited as we are... Tony's really ready to meet this little one as am i!!!

Target registry problems

Hello to all. I'm not sure who all is reading this and checking up but for those of you who are, let me warn you about our Target Registry... it STINKS. When you go into the store, you are not able to pull our registry up on the in-store kiosk so you have one of two options... 1) print the registry from home before you go, or 2) ask someone at the customer service desk to access the internet from the kiosk and print it from there. If you don't go by our registry and just buy something generic, PLEASE make sure we have a gift receipt for it, otherwise it will be unreturnable if the cost is over $35 and we are only allowed 2... i repeat TWO... returns a year without receipts! All of this to say that i'm totally sorry for the inconvenience that a gift registry has caused (that it's supposed to make life convenient) and PUH-LEASE keep your receipts or get a gift receipt!!!

dots

So we've been telling people that we were putting primary colored polka dots on one of the walls and we finally finished that part of the room last night. We still have to get the scripture and quote from chalk to paint but that's what i'm hoping to get done next week. For now, i'll have to settle for just the dots and wait til tony is home to be able to get on the ladder. 'til then, enjoy this picture and i hope you can tell a little something by it. sorry it's small.

GRR

Oh I'm sure this is going to be the first of many to come but HELLO!?!?! In what world do you register for an item and it is just "temporarily unavailable" and really, in all reality, it has been discontinued!? Oh and good grief, this wasn't just "any" item... it was our car seat/stroller. Deciding on that was a long week of discussions of safety, convenience, and 'look' and here we are 5 1/2 weeks out and we've gotta do THAT all over again! Oh well... like i said, i'm certain this is just the beginning!

34 weeks and 2 days

"Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies." --Babycenter.com

Well, we're still working on the baby's room and it's actually coming to something other than just paint! You all would be proud! We've gotten the scripture and the sayings chalked on the walls and now, just to get them painted and the 'decor' is actually all starting to come together. I'm hoping to have the rest of my furniture by the 22nd when my brother comes home and helps Tony load and unload it and other than that, we're just waiting for this little one to show up. My back and leg are a smidgen better but really, it won't be best 'til rugrat here gets off my pelvis. Other than that, we're just in "hurry up and wait" mode and starting to get really excited! Hope all is well with everyone and we can't wait to introduce you to the new one ASAP!!!

debate over names

So what is it about becoming a grandma that has my mom's panties all in a wad!?!? The family joke/debate is what my mother will be called as these 2 babies come into the world in the next few months and it has caused MAJOR laughter, threats, and lots of terrible names to come out as options. It all started with being called "Lolly" or "Lolli" *however you want to spell it* which mom just absolutely bucked 100%! Howard and I both thought that it was a FABULOUS name... how cute, simple, and unique, right!?!? But nooooo... mom 'bout died! I made the mistake of telling her that she could be Lolli and dad could be Pop and they could make LolliPop and that pushed her over the edge. She dug her heels in and absolutely refused!

At this point, the harrasment began as my brother, sister-in-law, Tony, and I all decided we were going to come up with SOMETHING and before these babies were born! If you know my family well enough, you can only imagine some of the names that have been brought to the table! Boy has it gotten funny. Well, today, it hit its pinnacle when I was online and found that there ARE IN FACT names out there worse than Lolli! For starters "Bubbles": can we say, 'big, scary DHR worker from Lilo and Stitch!?!?' and then, to top all of our efforts off, "Bube" (pronounced boobie) that is the yiddish word for grandmother. Well, at that, i about wet my pants *which is quite a common 'almost' being 8 1/2 months pregnant*! Immediately, i picked up the phone and told mom that it could be certainly worse and in mid-conversation, we might just have come up with a compromise on "Lola". Who knows what the baby will come up with when its born but its bound to be a joke for ever and ever in the Hornsby household!

nursery progress

So last night Tony and I worked on the baby's room for about an hour and a half. Tony put some wood oil on my rocking chair and the crib and can we say "AMAZING" at what that did for them both! Them being family pieces of furniture and finishing up this beautiful could be no greater gift and no cooler thing to have in my nursery! (pics to be coming soon)

Also, I chalked out part of what we will be painting on the baby's wall. We've decided on Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I made you in your mother's womb, I chose you. Before you were born, I set you apart for a special work" as a border and above the crib will be "all because two people fell in love". I am hoping that we will get all this done before "peanut" gets here. It is hard to believe that i have just 6 1/2 weeks to go before I'll be a mommy! CRAZY!!! Tony is totally excited and getting really anxious to hold and rock the baby, while I am looking beyond all that and seeing all the late night feedings, the dirty diapers, the tears (both baby's and mine) and the learning. LOL So there are mixed emotions floating around the Sharp household right now but we are going to be fine and truly are excited about this little miracle that the Lord has blessed us with!

crib picture

so even though the room color isn't very distinctive in this picture, it is a milk chocolate (color of a chocolate shake). sorry about the crummy coloring of the pic.

33 weeks and all's well!

So I have decided that being pregnant automatically sticks a sign on your head that says "Human Pin Cushion"!!! Really... do they have to draw so much blood!?!? LOL ~ Anyway, went to the doctor this morning and everything checked out fine. Blood pressure was good and low, heart rate of baby was 160, my weight is still good and I've only got 7 more weeks of terribly back pain left! Tony and I got the crib put together and set up in the baby's room and THAT was a totally interesting thing to see a baby bed in MY house getting ready for MY baby... what a realization that was last night! We are getting incredibly excited, though, and just absolutely can't wait to meet this little booger that keeps jacking me in the ribs and shaking the bed at night! Tony says that its going to be a soccer player! :-) We'll see... boy or girl... the jury is still out but we've all got our suspicions. For me to be such a planner, I was fine not knowing 'til now but I'm getting really anxious to find out! Anyway... life is still great and I still cannot complain about this pregnancy! The Lord has just really blessed us! Am going to post a picture of the crib in the room but until then, take care and 'til next time...
