32 weeks and counting!!!
How your baby's growing:By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. ~*from babycenter.com*~

pregnancy pictures
Hello to all. So I've been utterly harrassed until I have finally given in and taken a picture with one of the most special people in the entire world! Not even my husband has had the honor of taking a "pregnancy picture" with me but one thing is for sure. A girl's grandmother is a person of honor and very special! Here I am this past weekend in Georgia with my grandmother. I went to get my baby bed ~*YAY... a piece of baby furniture!!!*~ and i took a few seconds to take a picture with her.
We're going to Mobile this coming weekend for a wedding and i had to buy a dress yesterday for that. Boy was THAT an adventure! I found two, though, that i will be able to wear now, pregnant, and later, not pregnant... they're just regular dresses. Being short has new advantages every day. I can buy 'regular' sundresses and they are long enough that they fit me well enough to cover up my tummy and then after i have the baby, it will still be a 'regular' sundress! Anyway, i hope you all enjoy the pictures and i'm sure there will be more to come.

The "ugh's" of pregnancy
Hello... there are a ton of things that we hear are things that can/will happen during pregnancy. Stretch marks, exhaustion, mood swings, all that other fun and not so fun stuff. But can I just say that I was never told about the flash back to puberty i would experience with acne!!! I mean, it's worse than middle school and high school! All make-up does is cover it up and i feel like people look at you and go "yeah, you've got an acne problem and are just trying to hide it" because it is absolutely impossible to cover up! Oh well, what the heck. Its just one of those things where you go "Where in the WORLD did all of that come from!?!?" :-) oh, the joys of pregnancy...

The Waiting Game
Well, in life it seems that everything has the end result of a 'hurry up and wait' scenario! From getting your drivers license to getting married to having a baby to everything else, hurry up and wait is what it seems we always have to do.
Counting down the 8 1/2 weeks we've got left of this pregnancy and I'm starting to get a bit anxious. Tony has said often that he's "ready for the baby to be here" while I am beginning to wonder if I truly am ready to be a mom. Being needed 100% of the time, being the sole source of health, safety and nutrition, just the essentials of being a mom are so overwhelming when you start thinking about it and talking about it. Not to mention all the people in the world that are talking to you about it and truly trying to be positive but scaring the pants off of you with stories that should be banned from the share-a-thon of having a baby. All the encouragement and positive I can get, I am willing to receive right now. Either way, though, ready or not, here it comes!

Pregnancy update
So yesterday I had a doctors appointment and was told that everything is still on track. The aches and pains of late pregnancy are starting to kick in and essentially, they won't get better til delivery. My joints are starting to really loosen up which has caused Tendonitis in my left knee along with the extra weight i'm carrying around now. Still doing well though and all my bloodwork has come back perfect. Not diabetic, not anemic, and not everything else I was tested for. No swelling and not high blood pressure. All in all, a great pregnancy compared to some of the horror stories i have heard.

30 weeks and counting
"Your baby's lungs and digestive tract are almost fully developed. While your baby may soon slow up growing in length, (he measures about 15.7 inches/ 40 centimetres from crown to toe by now), he will continue to gain weight until he's born. This week your baby continues to open and shut his eyes. He can probably see what's going on in utero, distinguish light from dark and even track a light source. If you shine a light on your stomach, your baby may move his head to follow the light or even reach out to touch the moving glow. Some researchers think baring your stomach to light stimulates visual development. But don't expect 20/20 vision when your baby is born -- newborns can see a distance of only about 8 to 12 inches/ 20 to 30 centimetres. (Children with normal vision don't reach 20/20 vision until about age 7 to 9.) To complete the picture, your baby now has eyebrows and eyelashes."
This was on the babycentre website. Thought you would all appreciate the amazing small transformations that the Lord does throughout simple days in the womb. I mean... eyelashes for goodness sakes! How cool is that!?!? http://www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/fetaldevelopment/30weeks/

baby room/house update
So we've finally done something other than clean and live in the house. This weekend we successfully finished painting the baby's room. It looks beautiful and is a rich "milk chocolate" color, according to Tony. We just love it and are so totally pleased. We've actually gotten a few pictures hung up on the walls and the next thing on my priority list is to get some curtains in the kitchen. The more i am in the house, the more i dislike the curtains in the kitchen so that will be the next little-big project to tackle. That and the yard but boy is it hot to work in the yard at 30 weeks pregnant! Slowly but surely, we're making our way through the house and getting things taken care of.

finally registered
Yes... i have finally done it. I bit the bullet and did the whole baby registry thing. I am registered @ Babies-R-Us and Target. It is starting to get exciting with Monday marking the 30 week mark. Only about 8 more to go... CRAZY enough... and i'll be a mom!

graduation, Dana's pregnant, and i'm 29 weeks
Well so i've made it to the 29th week and all seems to be going well. The baby is healthy and growing and boy is it moving!!! Had my glucose test last week to check for gestational diabetes and i'm assuming that no news means good news.
Howard graduated Saturday from UAB and that was just too cool. he deserves it! It's been a long road! They finally announced to the family that they were expecting a baby mid-late October and that is going to make for an interesting Christmas for certain!
Other than that, things seem to be going as normal around here. we're loving tony not having school for the first time in over a year and we're just taking advantage of that as long as we can. we're planning on getting the baby's room painted this week or next and then start getting that ready for the new addition in July.
Missing you all!!
